Brothers,

I want to ensure that the Delta Theta Chapter actives and alumni continue the close spirit we have built over the past several years. In order to do that I have asked several alumni to take on a designated leadership role.

The following alumni brothers have accepted my nomination to serve on the Delta Theta Chapter Advisory Team. I have asked Grand Praetor Ken Bailey to appoint these brothers to serve on the Delta Theta Chapter Advisory Team.

Responsibilities and expectations of all Chapter Advisory Team members:

Volunteer for at least one year.

Provide guidance and supervision for the undergraduate chapter

To teach the values and ideals of our Fraternity by word and example

To attend regularly scheduled meetings of the advisory board team including attending a chapter meeting once every 4-6 weeks during the school year.

To assist with undergraduate chapter events (recruitment, alumni functions, university receptions, initiations, etc.)

To be available for other responsibilities as requested by the Grand Praetor/Chapter Advisor

The Pledge Advisor will:

Ensure the Magister is promoting the spirit and understanding of Sigma Chi's values

Assist with the development of the pledge program

Ensure all fees and forms are submitted in a timely manner

The Financial Advisor will assist the Quaestor by:

Developing a monthly dues and billing system

Filing required tax forms

Establishing house financial goals

Establishing and setting a budget for the chapter

Ensuring each chapter officer works within the budget.

The Risk Management Advisor will:

Assist the undergraduate risk manager with campus and Sigma Chi risk management policies

Review the policies with the chapter

Assist in educating the chapter regarding all risk management procedures

Help organize ongoing risk management round tables

The EC Advisor will:

Assist the Pro Consul with developing an effective Executive Team

Ensure a strategic plan is implemented for the chapter

Ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner

Serve as a liaison with the General Fraternity

The Recruitment Advisor will:

Help educate undergraduates on how to recruit proper men

Help develop a strategy for year-round recruitment

Assist the Recruitment Chairmen in achieving goals

Help organize recruitment activities and events

The University Advisor will:

Update the chapter on university news, events and regulations

Schedule regular meetings with university personnel (student development, alumni affairs, faculty relations, etc)

Encourage undergraduates to join and lead campus organizations

Ensure a positive relationship between the active chapter and campus constituencies

We will probably look into having an alumnus participate as an alumni advisor and scholarship advisor as well in the near future.

I cannot tell you how lucky we are to have these men serve in these capacities. To the actives: we are here to serve as your big brothers, not your daddies. We want to assist you all in making the Delta Theta Chapter the best. If we ever seem overbearing, let us know immediately. We only want to help you out with wisdom, experience and assistance.
